What can I put down to prevent weeds and grass from growin before my above ground swimming pool gets installed
We are having an above groung pool installed next week and we’d like to put something down under the sand to prevent anything from growing through the liner such as plastic, weed preventer, tar paper, etc. Years ago we had an small above ground pool and nutgrass constantly grew through the liner. We went through 4 liners before getting fed up and taking the pool down. What can anyone reccomend. Thanks.

There is a product called Zap-It. It goes by a couple different names but it is made to go under vinyl liners. It is really good for nut grass.
Put down some old carpet or black tarp the idea is to prevent sun from getting to the ground and growing anything through the sand.
Get a roll of visqueen (heavy plastic) Spray roundup before laying down the visqueen.
this works in a garden to prevent weeds from growing up up through you pull the existing weeds then you can take ALOT of old newspapers and fold them to make them thick and wet them and put them down. end by putting down a black tarp or thick black plastic sheets
this would do the same without the garden
I agree with the last guy. Anything that you don’t mind getting wet.
You could buy a tarp from somewhere, mabye lowe’s or any of the giant “Mart” stores.
I have an above ground pool myself! It has been in the same spot for 4 years. First get sand and cover the area.spread out the sand with a board.Try to get it as even as posible.I would even spread it about 2 feet extra. So grass don’t grow around the sides. You can get a large tarp from Wal-Mart.We have a 18ft pool so we bought a 20ft tarp.If you realy want it to last put two tarps! The grass will die from no sun!You can even dig up the aera if your serious.Keep in mind where your drain and pump will be.It is best you put that area where people will not be walking.
Heavy black plastic. Make sure it stays there until the entire area is bare.
We use 1/2 inch r-max and the famous duct tape under our pool. Keeps a soft bottom and won’t move around like sand. Never had a problem.
